About me

My name is Jo and I am a qualified counsellor and registered member of the National Counselling society .I work with teenagers,adults,couples and families,offering a supportive and confidential space to explore life's challanges.

I provide in-personface-to face counselling ,walk-and talk therapy in Bristol,as well as online therapy for clients across the uk.

 My core theraputic approach is rooted in humanistic theory . I believe that every person has the capacity to take responsibility for themselves, to change and to grow towards their own potential. I aim to offer a  healthy,safe and non judgmental space where you can explore your experiences,emotions and relationships at your own pace. Alongside this ,I integrate a range of other approches ,including CBT and psychodynamic theory,tailoring my work to meet your individual needs. 

I treat each client as unique and my practise is guided by the NCS ethical framework.  My values include working with honesty, integrity and courage. Confidentiality is central to our work and through the therapeutic process I will endeavour to support you in overcoming life's obstacles  and finding a healthier way forward that feels right for you.

I have been working as a private counsellor for 7 years. I also have 3 years experience working for Low Cost and affordable Counselling in Bristol. I have worked in mental health for 15 years and in a teaching roles for 30 years.

My qualifications include:
