About me

I am a qualified person centred counsellor which means that during our sessions we work together to have an understanding of how you are feeling.

I offer a safe, non-judgemental, warm space for you to be able to explore your thoughts and feelings.

Life can be really tough at times and sometimes we just need to feel heard and understand why we feel the way we do.

During my training, I worked with survivors of sexual abuse, young people at Off the Record from the age of 11-25 years old  specialising in anxiety, working through it and being given the tools to manage anxiety with a positive outcome.  I also worked with older people through SAGE counselling, senior age counselling, 65 years and older.

I have also spent over 16 years working in senior schools in a pastoral role, supporting young people with what life throws their way. I have supported them with their mental health, bereavement and anxiety and how to manage their emotions and feelings and yet still attend school. I equip them with the skills they need to manage school and life situations.

I work from the heart of Southsea with own parking, face to face or online.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
