About me

I'm an integrative counsellor with a strong person-centred foundation. Being integrative means I can tailor our work to your individual needs and circumstances, drawing on a range of therapeutic approaches.

I'm a registered member of the BACP and work in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework, offering a safe and ethical space where your agency and autonomy are respected. Honouring your choices is central to my practice.

I offer face-to-face counselling in Burnley town centre, as well as in the Halifax area, including Sowerby Bridge and Todmorden in the Upper Calder Valley. I also offer online sessions across West Yorkshire.

My approach is relational and collaborative. I will follow your lead, focusing on what matters most to you within a supportive therapeutic relationship. Your safety and wellbeing are always my priority.

My commitment to counselling is rooted in my own experiences of trauma, loss, and mental health challenges. During my recovery, hope and self-compassion played a vital role, and these values continue to inform my work today. I understand the importance of having a confidential space where you feel genuinely heard, understood, and valued.

I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, trauma, loss and bereavement, relationship difficulties, emotional overwhelm, addiction, and life transitions. I also support people who feel stuck in unhelpful patterns, overwhelmed or uncertain, are struggling to make sense of their experiences, or want to understand how past experiences may be affecting them today.

I have over 10 years' experience supporting adults in community-based mental health recovery and crisis services, as well as facilitating creative wellbeing groups.

Working with people from ethnically diverse communities and many different social, cultural, and religious backgrounds has strengthened my belief that each person's experience can only be understood within the context of their own life. I aim to create a space where your voice and experience are respected and valued.

I work in a way that is sensitive to people's lived experiences and relational power dynamics, recognising the impact that discrimination, inequality, and other life circumstances can have on our health and wellbeing. This understanding guides my collaborative approach.

Your voice matters, and you are the expert in your own life.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
