Dip in Counselling and Psychotherapy MBACP

About me

My name is Joanne and I am an experienced, fully qualified counsellor. I have lots of personal life experiences and understand that life takes twists and turns and has a multitude of highs and lows. Therefore, I have realised how important it is for you, as the client, to know that you are working in a safe and confidential environment.

  • I qualified in 2003.
  • Certificate in Counselling Skills.
  • Certificate in Counselling Theory.
  • Advanced Certificate in Counselling Skills and Theory.
  • Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (Humanistic)
  • BACP Certificate of Proficiency

I work from a Person Centred Perspective. I also have a certificate in PTSD.

I have obtained a Certificate in working with suicidal clients.
I have obtained a Certificate in Therapeutic Supervision.
I also have a way of working using creativity in the therapy as this can be useful to the client as we are all individuals and may choose different ways of working through our issues

I am a member of the BACP.

I have experience working in an Employment Assistance Programme working with NHS and Armed Forces,Schools and Carers.

I have volunteered at schools, colleges, Kemp Hospice and North Worcestershire Bereavement organisations. These places have helped me realise that things change, life changes and we also change, and that discovering and changing throughout our life is good but can feel overwhelming too.

I am a friendly warm person with experience working with bereavement, anxiety, self confidence, abuse, self belief, obsessive compulsive disorder, depression, work related stress, anger and ptsd.

Counselling is an ideal opportunity to discuss any worries or issues you have and know that the counsellor is listening to you while you decide how you move forward to where you want to be.

The initial 30 minute assessment is free, where I can answer any questions you have and a good opportunity for you to let me know what you are requiring from counselling.

I am offering FaceTime or WhatsApp video call or telephone whichever you prefer.

Each session is for 1 hour and frequency will be negotiated between us.

Cost of the session is £55.00

I can be contacted by email or my mobile number to which I will respond within 24 hours.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
