About me

Counselling offers a safe and confidential space where you can explore personal challenges, gain clarity, and find meaningful ways to move forward. Working with a trained professional can help you better understand your thoughts, emotions, behaviours, and relationships, giving you the support you need to make positive changes at your own pace.
In our sessions, my aim is to offer warmth, understanding, and practical guidance. Counselling can provide emotional support during difficult or uncertain times, increase your self‑awareness, and help you recognise patterns that may be holding you back. Many people find it helpful for reducing distress linked to anxiety, depression, grief, or overwhelm, and for strengthening coping skills during everyday life or major transitions. It can also improve communication, boundaries, and relationship dynamics.

You can expect counselling to be a collaborative and non‑judgmental experience. Your goals and needs will shape the direction of our work together. Over time, you may find yourself gaining insight into emotional or behavioural patterns, developing healthier ways of managing stress or relationship challenges, and improving communication in both personal and professional settings. Counselling can also help you work through past experiences that may still be affecting your well being, and support you in identifying values and goals that encourage resilience and personal growth. Everyone’s journey is different, and while the process can sometimes feel challenging, many people describe it as empowering and transformative.

I offer a free telephone assessment, giving you the chance to ask questions and share a little about what brings you to counselling. If you feel comfortable and would like to continue, we can arrange a suitable time and date for your first session.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
