About me
Thank you for viewing my profile, I'm a qualified Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist for adults, Children and young people, trained at the University of South Wales. I have additional training in couples counselling (Consilium Training College), Trauma-Focused CBT with PTSD (Anna Freud), and hold an advanced diploma in Clinical Supervision. I work part-time as a school counsellor/psychotherapist with Monmouthshire County Coucil and run a private practice, where I see clients and supervise trainee and qualified therapist.
Previously, I worked at Mind as member of the Wellbeing and Counselling team, where I progressed to lead counsellor. My experience includes supporting individuals of various genders. I have helped clients with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, low self-esteem, self-harm, depression, trauma, relationship issues and suicidal ideation.
My own journey through counselling was truly transformative, and it's what inspired me to become a counsellor myself. Having experienced first-hand the power of a listening ear, I wanted to offer that same warmth and support to others who might feel alone or overwhelmed. I understand how daunting it can be when life's challenges seem too heavy or when support from loved ones doesn't quite reach the heart of the matter. My hope is to create a space for you that feels genuinely safe, confidential and free from judgement - a place where you can share your story and feel understood. Whether you're struggling with trauma, anxiety, grief, loss, or depression, I'll be here to walk alongside you as we make sense of your feelings together. Here, you're encouraged to be yourself, and together we'll explore your fears, concerns and hopes- because ultimately, you are the author of your own life, and I am privileged to accompany you in writing the next chapter.
I'm a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and an accredited member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS). In my practice as an Integrative Psychotherapist, I draw on a range of approaches - including person-centred therapy, DBT, TA, CBT and psychodynamic therapies - selecting and blending methods to fit who you are and what you need. My approach is always warm and collaborative, focused, on supporting you at your pace and working with your own hopes and goals, whether you're seeking short-term support or longer-term exploration. My aim is to help you uncover greater self-understanding and a deeper sense of wellbeing alongside you every step of the way.
Training, qualifications & experience
As a registered Counsellor and member of the BACP and NCPS, I adhere strictly to their Ethical Framework, ensuring that my practice remains safe, professional, and client-centred at all times. My academic background includes Postgraduate Diploma at Level 7 in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy for adults, as well as specialised training in counselling children and young people (Level 7). This robust training enables me to support clients across a wide age range, tailoring my approach to meet the development and emotional needs of each individual. I also have a OCST 2 online Counselling Diploma, qualified and experience across webcam, email, phone, audio and instant messaging, this training is BACP and ACTO approved.
My professional experience spans from a variety of settings, including charitable organisations, community-based services, and secondary schools, where I have worked with clients from diverse backgrounds. This breadth of experience has equipped me to address a wide array of concerns, from anxiety, and self-esteem issues to trauma and relationship challenges. In addition to my counselling practice, I am a qualified Clinical Supervisor, holding an Advanced Diploma in Counselling Supervision (NCIP Accredited), which allows me to provide guidance and support to trainee and practising therapists.
My ongoing commitment to professional development is reflected in further specialist training, including couples counselling, which enhances my ability to support relationships and family dynamics, and Trauma-Focused CBT for PTSD, which informs my work with clients who have experienced significant trauma. These additional qualifications compliment my integrative approach, allowing me to blend a range of therapeutic models- such as person-centred, DBT, TA, CBT and psychodynamic therapy-so that I can respond flexibly and sensitively to the unique needs of every person I work with. Additionally, I have completed courses in substance misuse, Suicide Ideation, self-harm intervention, borderline personality disorder, neurodivergence, mindfulness and safeguarding.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
