About me
It is my own personal experience of how good therapy can help in times of difficulty that makes me so passionate about supporting my clients through their challenges.
I have experience working with adult individuals and couples facing a wide range of issues including those related to:
- Relationships
- Anxiety
- Anger
- Stress
- Depression
- Low mood
- Low self-esteem
- Bereavement
- Adapting to life changes
- Personal growth
I am a fully qualified counsellor / psychotherapist and hypnotherapist accredited by NCPS (National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society). I also hold an Advanced Certificate in Relationship Therapy accredited by COSRT (The College of Sex and Relationship Therapy).
I provide in person and on-line counselling services from my welcoming, fully insured practice close to Saffron Walden on the Hertfordshire, Essex border. Easily accessible from the M11, I am located approximately 15 minutes drive from Stansted, 20 minutes from Bishop's Stortford and 30 minutes from Cambridge.
Who I Work With...
The issues I work with are as diverse and unique as my clients. Perhaps you're struggling with intimate or family relationship issues? Maybe you're feeling anxious, depressed, stressed or plagued by self doubt? Perhaps you are having difficulties coming to terms with a bereavement or adapting to a life change? Or maybe you feel a bit stuck and discontent? Whatever your personal situation, in therapy we work together to help you make sense of what is happening in your life and enable you to bring about the healing, growth and change you wish for yourself.
My Approach...
In counselling terms, my approach is "pluralistic". This simply means that I work collaboratively with you to combine a number of different therapeutic methods to create an approach that is tailored to your individual goals, preferences and needs. As well as providing you with a confidential, empathetic, judgement free space in which to access and work through your feelings, we can also use practical tools and techniques which can help you cope with difficult emotions and navigate challenging situations in the present. In addition, we can explore your past experiences and relationships to help you to gain a deeper understanding of who you are today, giving you the insight you need to enable yourself to move forward to where you want to be.
My Client Promise...
I know from experience that seeking help when we need it can be overwhelming. But, whatever issues you are facing and whatever your goals for therapy, you can be assured of a welcoming, professional, supportive and safe counselling relationship. I am very happy to have a no obligation phone conversation with you before you decide if you would like to book an initial session.
