About me
Life can be difficult. We can be met with stressful, challenging and traumatic events and feel unable to manage their impact on our well-being. We can struggle with enduring mental health conditions or new physical health diagnosis and feel incapable to move towards life directions that are important to us. We can feel overwhelmed with conflicts, grief, self-criticism, loneliness, existential angst, life changing transitions and questions about our identities. When we do feel like this, reaching out for therapy can become a source of needed support and HOPE for starting to feel better and having a more fulfilling life.
Therapy creates space where people feel heard, where their experiences are validated and understood and where they can start working towards a psychological plan of recovery. Although engaging in therapy might feel daunting - with the right therapist, it can also be transformative, if not life changing.
Training, qualifications & experience
I offer support to people who struggle with anxiety, stress and burnout, depressive moods, OCD, insecure attachments and low self-esteem. I also help people who have experienced emotional, physical and sexual abuse and traumatic events, and who might suffer with PTSD or secondary PTSD. I create space for people to process their grief and a sense of loss related to life-changing transitions and diagnosis of physical and neurological conditions. Furthermore, I work with people who want to understand themselves better- their emotions, relationships with others, the way they see the world and themselves. Having a greater sense of who we are, what is important to us and having therapeutic tools to manage difficulties, gives us a chance to live more intentional life with new opportunities and meanings.
I offer psychological assessments and therapy drawing on evidence based therapeutic models. I use therapies such as: EMDR, CBT, CFT, ACT, ERP and I draw on DBT and mindfulness. My practise is trauma informed and embedded in a holistic and person centred approach.
I work in a collaborative way, recognising clients as unique individuals embedded in particular socio-demographic-ethical contexts. Moreover, I am very intentional in building a respectful, empathetic, compassionate, and non-judgmental therapeutic relationship with people who I work with. I believe that it creates a psychologically safe space, which is essential for working through people's difficulties and to reach a therapeutic goal, whatever it might be.
I offer short and long-term face-to-face or online therapy. All sessions last 50 minutes apart from EMDR sessions, which last 90 minutes.
