About me

It is my firm belief that, as an individual, you have the power to make positive changes in your life, which can enable you to feel happier and more fulfilled. Whether you are experiencing a specific challenge or are seeking a place to be heard, it is my aim to provide a confidential and compassionate space where we can work together to raise awareness and promote positive change.

I work with a Gestalt focus, which means that we will concentrate on the ‘here and now’ and consider how past experiences may still impact you in the present. We will explore your processes and the way you relate to others, as well as identifying challenges and blocks you may experience. If appropriate, I can integrate coaching into my practice.

I am also a qualified Rewind Practitioner and, where appropriate, can incorporate the Rewind technique into my practice to help clients work with the impact of distressing or traumatic experiences.

Before qualifying as a counsellor, I worked for many years in education and as a musician. These experiences have given me a broad understanding of people, relationships and the different challenges that life can bring. If you would like to contact me with any questions or for an initial phone consultation, I would be delighted to hear from you and aim to respond within 24 hours.

As a registered member of the BACP, I fully abide by their Ethical Framework. I undertake regular supervision of my work in line with BACP guidelines.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
