About me

Hi I’m Jo and a very warm welcome to my page. You have probably clicked here because you are going through a difficult time or have certain things in your life that are troubling you? I’m a qualified counsellor based in Didsbury and I help people who struggle with low self-esteem, anxiety and negative thinking to realise their worth and live a more positive, authentic life.

As a recovering people pleaser with a chronic anxiety disorder, I know how debilitating self doubt and not feeling good enough at our core can feel.  And how it can destroy our confidence in all areas of our life. I've been there. And I know through my own personal journey just how powerful counselling can be in turning that around.

Do you...

Constantly overthink, criticise yourself and compare yourself to others?

Live in a constant state of negativity, worry and overwhelm - never feeling good enough no matter how many compliments others pay you or how well you are doing?

Pretend everything is 'fine' on the outside, but underneath you're racked with anxiety and self doubt?

Beat yourself up constantly and set impossibly high standards for yourself?

Struggle with a challenging relationship with a critical parent or significant other?

Try to please others and worry constantly what people think of you - often trying to live up to other people’s expectations?

Would you like to feel...

Liberated - from the negativity and self doubt that is 'running the show' in your mind.

Insightful - you finally have insight as to why you've been feeling and behaving the way uou do.

Empowered - you now understand how and why your anxiety and negative thoughts are triggered and have coping tools to manage them so they no longer overwhelm you.

Calm - You can now relax and sleep better at night rather than replaying conversations over and over in your head.

Inspired - you feel heard and seen for the first time ever and realise all of your feelings are valid, and have learned that your needs are important too and how to get them needs met

Excited - you feel more confident to try new things and make changes in your life that you never thought possible

Through counselling, you will be welcomed and accepted exactly as you are in a safe space away from judgements or advice from others.  You will gain self awareness and coping tools, empowering you to calm your mind of negative chatter.

If any of this sounds familiar and you’re tired of ‘putting on a brave face’, then I may be the counsellor for you. Please contact me for a free, no obligation 15 minute chat so we can see how I could help you.

Please reach out - It's OK to not be OK. And I'd love to help.

Warm wishes

Jo
