MBACP Qualified Humanistic Integrative Counsellor

About me

As a Humanistic Integrative Counsellor, I offer a warm, compassionate and down-to-earth space where you can feel heard, accepted and supported without judgement. I believe that every person’s experience is unique, and I work collaboratively with you to explore whatever may be bringing you to counselling at your own pace.

I support people experiencing:
Anxiety and overwhelm
Bereavement, grief and loss
Miscarriage and stillbirth
Low self-esteem and self-worth difficulties
Suicidal thoughts
Work-related stress, burnout and redundancy
Relationship difficulties
Life transitions and emotional struggles

My approach integrates Person-Centred Therapy, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis and Existential philosophy, which enables me to tailor therapy to your individual needs. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, lost or simply in need of support, I aim to help you gain greater self-awareness, resilience and understanding.

Sometimes it is difficult to express ourselves openly, even to those closest to us. Counselling and therapy is different to talking with your friends and family. I am able to listen to your concerns attentively without judging or needing a certain outcome. Whether you’re looking for short-term support or deeper exploration, we’ll move at your pace. Together we will explore what is going on beneath the surface, helping you build understanding, self-trust and clarity about the next steps that feel right for you. I believe real change happens when you feel genuinely heard, understood, and supported.

As well as private practice, I volunteer within a mental health charity and as a Samaritan. Making counselling support easier to access is something I care deeply about.

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP), which means I work to their ethical framework to ensure that your safety and wellbeing are my key priority.

What to expect.

Please feel free to contact me by telephone, email or text, which ever feels most comfortable for you.

Finding the right counsellor is an important part of the therapeutic process, and I understand how important it is that we feel like the right fit for one another. To help you decide whether counselling with me feels right for you, I offer a free, no-obligation 15-minute consultation over the phone, where we can briefly discuss your needs and any questions you may have.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Wheelchair user access
Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.

The counselling room is located on the ground floor of the premises and has wheelchair access. There is parking available outside the building.
