About me
Whether it is through loss, illness, other life changes, or seemingly out of the blue, there is something troubling which brought you here.
My background is in Psychology & Neuroscience and I am qualified as a counsellor and psychotherapist too, registered with both the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).
I can help you gain a better understanding of your feelings and thought processes, and I’ll help you find your own solutions to problems. Most importantly, our shared space, our company and presence to your issues will help meaning and direction to emerge.
Sometimes it can be very difficult to talk about what is happening, and more often than not, opening up is obstructed by a sense of numbness and resistance to connect to feeling and experiencing. The therapy I am offering can also help with that and is very soothing in times of difficulties.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold diplomas in counselling and psychotherapeutic treatment as well as an MA based on my specialisation on embodiment in psychological therapies from the Institute of Psychosynthesis, London.
Since 2015 I have been working in clinical settings with body-oriented psychological therapy to help people with chronic pain, cancer, Parkinson's, and all kinds of mental health incl eating disorders, anxiety, depression.
Originally, I have studied psychology in Germany, have then obtained a PhD in cognitive neuroscience, then pursued postdoctoral work in this area for a few years. Since 2019, I have been working as a treatment developer, researcher & lecturer at University of Newcastle, UK and the University Hospital of Bonn, Germany.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Deeply grounded in Psychosynthesis – a psychology of hope, I am offering you a space to be. To be no matter what your physical condition or behaviour, no matter what your moods and thoughts. A space to appear as you are, feel what we feel, think what you think. Treated like this, a sense of freedom is likely to (re-)emerge for you, carrying you through challenges and suffering and towards a clearer sense of who you are.
I’d be delighted to accompany you!
“Before every session, I take a moment to remember my humanity. There is no experience this person had that I cannot share with them, no fear that I cannot understand, no suffering that I cannot care about, because I too am human. No matter how deep their wound, they do not need to be ashamed in front of me. I too am vulnerable. And because of this, I am enough. Whatever their story, they no longer need to be alone with it. This is what will allow their healing to begin.” (Carl Rogers)
