Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor- MBACP

About me

Feeling stuck in the same patterns, no matter how hard you try? Maybe a part of you knows something needs to change, but you are not sure where to begin.

How I can support you

A warm welcome, my name is Jess, I am an Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor. I support clients in understanding themselves, heal from the past and build a stronger, more compassionate relationship with who they are. I specialise in Trauma, Inner child work, Anxiety and issues related to Self esteem and confidence. Above all, I work with you and offer you a space where your story matters and you are truly heard. A space where you can exhale. You’re welcome here, exactly as you are.

I understand reaching out for support can be daunting and my aim is to offer you a space where you do not have to pretend anymore. A space where you feel safe, comfortable and able to be yourself. Therapy can be the start of feeling more like you again.

My approach

As an Integrative counsellor I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches, including Person-centred, Psychodynamic, and CBT choosing what feels most supportive for you and for the work we do together. This allows our work together to be flexible and responsive, shaped around your individual needs. Above all, I value and feel the most powerful ‘tool’ I can offer you is the time and space to feel truly heard, understood, and accepted within the therapeutic relationship.

You do not need to have everything figured out before starting, we can gently make sense of things together, at your pace, in a way that feels safe and manageable. I offer a warm, compassionate, and non-judgemental environment rooted in empathy and respect for your unique journey where you can explore whatever is bringing you to therapy.

I believe every experience is unique and my approach is guided around you, your story, your needs and what feels the most helpful in the moment. My role is to support you in finding a way forward that feels right for you.

Your healing starts with being heard.

Training, qualifications & experience

My training, experience and qualifications

I have over 7 years of experience working within the care and mental health world, including roles with the British Red Cross, Bristol Royal Infirmary, Bristol Children’s Hospital, Sirona etc. Throughout this time, I have supported individuals, families, and staff from a wide range of backgrounds, often during moments of vulnerability, change and uncertainty.

Alongside my professional experience, I hold a Level 5 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

I have also been involved in a range if voluntary roles, including Marmalade trust and ChildLine. These experiences have further strengthened my understanding of connection, loneliness, and the importance of being heard.

I committed to ongoing learning and professional development, undertaking a minimum of 30 hours of Continuous professional development each year. This allows me to continually deepen my knowledge and skills across a range of therapeutic areas, ensuring that the support I offer remains ethical, reflective, and responsive to each client’s individual needs.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
