About me
Hello my name is Jen I am a fully qualified Children and Young Person's counsellor and registered member of (BACP)
I am friendly, down to earth, non-judgmental and have experience in working with all age groups from all different backgrounds. I use a client-centred approach, which places a strong emphasis on building a trusting and supportive therapeutic relationship with my clients.
I offer my clients a confidential, safe space to help them to explore their inner thoughts and reprocess any negative feelings they may be holding. Depending on the client’s needs I adapt my approach to suit their requirements so they can get the most out of their sessions. For younger children, I can offer play therapy, which can help with behavioural issues.
My experience includes working with a wide range of issues such as Intrusive Thoughts, Low Self-esteem, Depression, Anxiety, Sexual Abuse, Self harm, Behavioural Issues, School refuser, Bullying, Family Relationships, Childhood Trauma, Coercive Relationships, Undiagnosed Neurodiversity, Low Level OCD, Covid Anxiety, Bereavement, Neglect, Social Media Related Abuse, LGBTQ
I also have a wealth of experience working with various types of anxiety related issues such as, generalised anxiety disorder (GAD), social anxiety, selective mutism, panic attacks, (and low level) obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). I really enjoy helping my clients who are experiencing the uncomfortable symptoms of having anxiety to take control of their anxious thoughts and change their way of thinking. I also have my own unique way of teaching my clients coping strategies that help support them through their counselling journey.
I am a neurodivergent-aware counsellor and specialise in working with neurodiverse children and young people that are struggling with their mental health. I have worked with a range of neurodivergent adults, mainly ADHD, autistic and AuDHD.
I can help clients to:
- Identify their unique neurodivergent characteristics
- Learn to work with their super power to get the most out of their life
- Liberate themselves from self-judgment and shame
- Trust themselves & shape a life that fits their neurotype
I have lived experience of neurodivergence and can also help signpost to local support groups.
I offer face to face sessions as well as telephone and online counselling.
Free telephone initial consultation.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
