So how did I become a Counsellor?
When I struggled to cope, I felt alone, as though I had reached rock bottom and could see no way out of the dark place I was in. I had no energy, getting dressed was a huge achievement, even getting downstairs some days was difficult for me. To cope with the simplest of things would send my anxiety through the roof. I felt as though I was stuck at the bottom of a dark well with no way out.
I then received Counselling. During the sessions I began to learn who I was again, and gained the courage, and self-esteem to make the changes I needed to function more positively and move forward with my life. I saw the light at the end of the tunnel, and counselling gave me the resources to fight the darkness

After having personal experiences of Counselling, realising the benefits and having such a positive outcome, I decided to retrain as a Counsellor. I wanted to give the support and help to others as I had received.
During my training as a Humanistic Counsellor, I had a placement as a student Counsellor for a local Bereavement Charity. I worked as a trainee for 2 years and a further 3 years once qualified. After completing my training I started my own private practice, and in 2019 I moved my Counselling Practice into the heart of Bridgnorth Town. I have continued with my training in many areas since qualifying, becoming an Integrated Counsellor. I am always looking to expand my knowledge so that I may provide a bespoke Counselling service to my clients dependant upon their own individual circumstances and requirements, and adjust my therapeutic methods to suit each individual client.
