I’ve been offering counselling for two years and my work is Person Centred. That means that your therapy is about you and your journey. It’s about you being offered a safe and confidential space to work on understanding yourself better.
In working with me, I aim to show you - empathy, acceptance and unconditional positive regard as you explore and deepen the relationship that you have with yourself and with others.
The sessions are led by you and you get to decide how best to use that time to benefit yourself.
In offering you the right kind of professional and personal support, I aim to facilitate an environment where you can develop a better connection with yourself, by understanding how your past affects your present and how to develop the tools necessary to build a future that aligns more with the real you.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

My first session
Starting as a new counsellor, my initial sessions are focused on building trust and establishing a foundation of understanding with you. Before we dive into the full counselling process, I offer a 20-minute consultation to help us get acquainted and give you the opportunity to ask questions.
This consultation is an essential step where we ensure that we’re a good fit for each other, allowing me to explain how I work and helping you feel comfortable with the idea of therapy.
If you choose to move forward, the first full session becomes an important time for both of us. A key part of starting the process is discussing confidentiality and the boundaries around our sessions. Ensuring that you feel safe, respected, and supported is my top priority.
I take a holistic view, so the first session might include looking at various aspects of your life, such as relationships, work, mental health, or personal goals. This helps us build a clearer picture together, allowing us to set meaningful and achievable counselling aims.
