About me

Hello, I’m Jeannie. I would like to offer you a warm welcome.

You may be feeling anxious, overwhelmed, have low mood, or be feeling emotionally exhausted. You might be supporting someone else and finding it hard to cope.

I work with adults, teenagers and couples providing a warm, supportive, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can feel safe to talk openly and feel truly heard.

I offer counselling that is flexible, understanding, and adapted to your individual needs.
You don’t need to have everything figured out before starting counselling, we can gently explore what’s going on together, at your pace.

Training, qualifications & experience

The Counselling Academy Diploma in Couples Counselling           CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
CPCAB Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies
CPCAB Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills
Counsellor at Youth Concern (Charity for 13-25 yr olds)
Sand Tray therapist
Youth Mentor at Tall Ships Youth Trust (empowering young people at sea)

I am a qualified counsellor and a registered member of the BACP and work in accordance with their ethical framework.

As an integrative counsellor, I tailor our work to suit your individual or couple needs, drawing on a range of therapeutic approaches.

At the heart of my practice is a strong, trusting therapeutic relationship built on empathy, compassion, and respect.

Alongside talking therapy, I offer sand tray therapy, which can be particularly helpful if words feel difficult or overwhelming. Creative approaches can provide a gentler way to explore emotions, memories, and experiences.

I also offer walk-and-talk counselling in the summer months, which many clients find supportive, if sitting in a therapy room feels too intense or if being outdoors in nature helps you to feel more at ease.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

A few recent client testimonials…April 2026-Couples Counselling
“My husband and I were struggling and having thoughts of separating when we sort some counselling. We found Jeannie and have benefitted enormously from her help.

Neither of us had experienced counselling before but Jeannie made us feel comfortable and it was easy to open up and discuss our problems. In a nonjudgemental way she has helped us to gain insight into our differences and therefor understand each other in a more productive way. We have been given tools to move forward and hopefully keep our relationship on track.

We are so glad we received help from Jeannie and it has been a good positive experience.”
