About me

Counselling Psychologist with over 12 year's experience as a therapist. I offer psychological therapy to help alleviate symptoms of depression and anxiety including PTSD, OCD, panic attacks, phobias, social anxiety, body dysmorphia disorder, health anxiety and psychological changes associated with menopause.

I specialise in the support of professionals who work in high stress contexts such as medical professionals, journalists, aid workers, security and services personnel.  My approach draws on EMDR, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and humanistic psychology to bring a positive and practical approach to all the work that I do.

I provide clinical supervision for therapists and trainees and work both in person in East London and online.

My professional experience in mental health comes from the NHS, primary care mental health services, occupational health, the NGO and charity sector, along with having previously worked in media and broadcasting as an Occupational Psychologist.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BABCP
British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP)

The BABCP is the lead organisation for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in the UK. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in the practice, theory or development of CBT. BABCP also provides accreditation for CBT therapists. BABCP accredited members adhere to the Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics in the Practice of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies, and are willing to be scrutinised in this adherence as required.

HCPC
Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
