About me
There are times in life when we may be struggling with our feelings, thoughts and behaviours or trying to make sense of the situations we may find ourselves in. At such times, it can be helpful to talk things through with an independent, objective and empathic listener.
I am qualified and experienced in the field of counselling and Cognitive Behavioural psychotherapy. I work primarily in independent practice but also in agency settings. I am a fully accredited counsellor/psychotherapist with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), a qualified and experienced clinical supervisor and counselling tutor. I offer short-term and longer-term face-to-face therapy to focus on what you wish to achieve within a safe and confidential space. Using an empathic, non-judgemental and impartial approach to build a trusting relationship, I can help you explore your areas of concern. I will not tell you what to do but rather help you to work through possible options for change.
I provide therapy for adults and for young people aged 12 and over who are taking the brave step to seek support with their concerns. I'm an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist which means I can use a range of approaches as appropriate to suit you and your therapeutic needs. These may include for example person-centred counselling, solution-focused therapy and a psychodynamic approach. As a cognitive behavioural psychotherapist, I also offer CBT. Additionally, I am trained in EMDR .
To ensure ethical practice, I adhere to the ethical guidelines of both the BACP and BABCP. I undertake regular supervision, safeguarding training and undertake appropriate CPD training. I hold a DBS check certificate and appropriate insurance.
Counselling/ Psychotherapy can help with issues such as:
- Depression
- Low mood
- Stress
- Anxiety
- Anger management
- Low self-esteem
- Loss
- Relationship problems
- Managing life’s transitions and change.
Please feel free to email or call me if you have any questions about counselling/psychotherapy or about how I may be of help. I can offer a short initial consultation, without obligation, for us to see how we feel about working together and to assess your therapeutic needs.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
