About me

We all face times in our life that knock us down for a while but I believe as people we aren’t powerless in the face of adversity, change or challenge. I also believe people all have the same inherent worth, that people can think for themselves, and therefore, are able to take responsibility for their decisions; and that people can change.

Having a qualification in trauma therapy means that I can help you understand your past to help you understand what perhaps what has caused your present processes.

I also believe that sometimes we need support along the way no matter what has happened. As a counsellor I have seen and experienced the benefits of counselling; how it can give us the capacity to manage circumstances in our lives so they don’t paralyse us.

As a counsellor I provide a safe space for everyone no matter where you find yourself in life, yourself, relationships or stage.  I hope I would offer place for you to do this without the fear of being judged and time to remember who you are and how to understand a little bit of what is going on in you. I will do this by exploring together techniques to help you understand your past, your present and look towards the future.

I provide a professional counselling service for individuals who are navigating change or challenge within their lives.

Through counselling I can help you find clarity around the events and influences that have shaped you, and empower you to bring about positive long term changes.

In short, I can help you understand your past so you can shape your future.

If you feel this is your next step and you would like to explore further what counselling means for you and have someone walk alongside you please do contact me via email, text or phone call.

For counsellors looking for a supervisor :- I can provide supervision for counsellors working as individuals or in an organisation. I have experience working with a wide range of issues that affect our clients especially those who have experienced trauma. I have always worked ethically and professionally. Please do get in touch if you would like to discuss further.

I do have a Facebook page that will keep you updated with anything that is going on or any workshops that we are holding around various issues. It is @Formationcounsellingandcoaching. Please do feel free to like the page and keep updated.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
