About me

My approach is compassionate, non-judgmental and rooted in respect. I understand that reaching out for therapy can feel daunting, as a humanistic counsellor, I offer a safe, compassionate, and confidential space where you feel comfortable to express yourself. Even if you are unsure where to begin, you are welcome exactly as you are.

I work with individuals who are curious about their inner world and motivated to grow, even when that process feels daunting. Together, we gently explore thoughts, emotions, patterns, and experiences in a way that supports insight, emotional healing, and personal empowerment. My approach is collaborative, non-judgmental, and tailored to your unique experiences, helping you develop healthier coping strategies, stronger communication skills, and greater emotional resilience.

I take an anti-discriminatory LGBTQ+ affirmative stance, and I am open to difference in all its forms.

The aim of our work is not just to manage difficulties, but to help you move beyond survival mode and towards a life shaped by self-acceptance, confidence, authenticity, and inner peace. I understand how overwhelming it can feel to face life’s challenges alone. I’m here to listen, support, and help you find a way forward in life, with empathy, and compassion. I invite you to reach out, and together, we’ll take the next steps toward your goals.

I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and the Hampshire Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (HACP). As a member of BACP I follow their code of ethical and professional conduct and regularly attend clinical supervision as this is good practice and ensures I am practising at my best.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

I provide a non-judgemental, warm and confidential environment that can support clients to explore feelings that they are finding difficult to confront, or aspects of their lives that they may desire to better understand. I believe in the ability of every individual to develop their full potential. Developing further understanding of your own thoughts, emotions, and behaviours through a trusting relationship between a client and counsellor enables the client to achieve their goals in life and discover a more meaningful and satisfying way to live.

The first session is  about welcoming the client and getting to know each other. I will provide information about how I work, what to expect from therapy and whether I can be of help to you. There will be an assessment form and contract to go through. It is the moment for you to ask questions and to get a sense whether you would like to work with me.
