Regd. MBACP. Advanced Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling

About me

Hello, thank you for reading my profile page. I offer counselling to Individuals 18yrs plus (no upper age limit), and to Couples.

You may be struggling with major concerns, or finding it hard to resolve a particular situation. Perhaps you have experienced a bereavement, or are uncertain about a relationship. Feeling emotionally stuck or overwhelmed can affect us all from time to time. I use psychodynamic therapy to help people understand and work through anxiety, depression and trauma. I firmly believe in the value of talking through problems, and offering support through life's difficult challenges. Over time, this can lead to lasting inner change, and a new perspective on life.

The individual counselling I offer is weekly and open-ended. I can also negotiate time-limited counselling if you need it, with a minimum of 12 sessions. I offer an In-Person confidential space in which we can explore your concerns in a face-to-face setting. I also offer Zoom sessions. There are some concessionary rates according to need, for example: low income ; students; single parents. Please ask me about this at our initial meeting.

The Couples counselling I offer is weekly and time-limited to 12 weeks, following an initial assessment. It is important to complete the Course, and this outcome is best achieved if both parties want counselling from the start. Fees and session times differ from individual counselling. Details available on request.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
