About me

Hello, my name is Jan.

As a Person-Centred Counsellor, I offer a warm, supportive space where you can talk openly and at your own pace. Together, we can explore what is happening in your life, or what has happened in the past, and the impact it may be having on you today.

I understand that reaching out to a counsellor can feel difficult. I aim to help you feel at ease from the very beginning by offering a kind, compassionate and non-judgemental approach.

You are welcome to contact me by phone, email, WhatsApp or text, and we can arrange an initial chat to see if I feel like the right counsellor for you - there is no pressure or obligation.

Alongside my person-centred approach, I can also draw on CBT or Solution Focused Therapy if this feels helpful for you. I will always be guided by you, working together to explore ways forward in a safe and welcoming space in Mold town centre.

I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and work in line with their ethical framework, ensuring a professional and confidential service.

I have over 20 years’ experience supporting individuals with a wide range of challenges, including:

Anxiety and low confidence

Self-harm and suicidal thoughts

ADHD and the impact it can have at different stages of life

Relationship and family difficulties

Work-related stress, including supporting police officers and staff

I have worked with charities, young people, and organisations supporting vulnerable individuals, as well as with separated families and parenting support services.

I have a particular interest in ADHD, helping individuals to better understand both the challenges and strengths it can bring, and to find ways of managing this in everyday life.

I welcome people from all walks of life and aim to provide a space where you feel heard, understood and supported.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
