About me

I offer Person Centred approach which is one of the 'humanistic' models in counselling. It values the clients individuality to internalise and express situational impact on them in their own unique way. We work together in a place of mutual respect and safety that underpins our time together.

I have worked with bereavement and grief clients during my years affiliated to a Hospice in Oxford. Also I  have a broad spectrum of life experiences, have worked as a Nurse and manager and understand the challenges that confront all of us leading to both psychological and physical dis-ease. We seek to understand why we feel this way as it limits our enjoyment of life, work and family.

Together we can begin to be curious beyond the narrative of perhaps the reason that initiated seeking help to deeper exploration of past events which can help greater understanding of how we can begin to live better now and in the future.

I can offer both short term solution focussed counselling and ongoing longer term sessions. I will also refer if necessary onto services that can better help the clients particular needs.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
