About me
I understand that problems in living can feel overwhelming and I believe that it takes great courage to allow yourself to acknowledge that you are struggling and to ask for help. You have taken an important step by seeking a counsellor and I hope that this search begins a process at the end of which, you feel more peaceful and in control of your personal world.
I can offer a confidential, safe, non judgemental space for you to talk through the things that are troubling you, and help you think about what might make life easier. I can provide counselling to individuals and couples who are 18 and over.
My training and experience (details below) mean that I am able to work in a flexible, adaptive way and I will aim to build a strong, honest and trusting relationship with you, so that together we might find some new ways for you to manage, or change the difficulties that have led you to seek help and support. The first session is free.
I have extensive experience and knowledge of working with the following:
Sexual violence.
Domestic violence
Relationship difficulties.
Low self esteem.
Childhood trauma/abuse.
Post Traumatic Stress.
Bereavement.
Substance misuse.
Depression.
Anxiety disorders.
OCD
ADHD/ADD
ASD
I am also an experienced and qualified clinical supervisor.
Training, qualifications & experience
Cert. H.E Counselling from Southampton University
Advanced Diploma H.E Counselling (Integrative) from Southampton University
B.A (Hons) in Humanistic/Integrative counselling from Middlesex University
Post-Grad Advanced Certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Approaches to Psychotherapy.
Post-Grad Diploma H.E Casework Supervision.
I am a highly experienced counsellor, who has been practising since 2003. My primary work until 2014 was in organisational settings, where I was employed as a senior counsellor, offering individual and group therapies and providing clinical supervision and training programmes to staff counsellors and volunteers. I am currently employed one day per week as a clinical supervisor and I also offer supervision as well as counselling in my private practice.
My integrative training (Clarkson's Five Relationships model) means that I have studied the main approaches to counselling and psychotherapy: Humanistic, Psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioural. This means that I can offer a wide range of interventions and strategies, within a framework that prioritises the relationship between counsellor and client. In short, I can work in lots of different ways, but will always base what I offer you on what we both feel suits you best.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
Thank you for visiting my profile. Please call, or email me me, so that I can find out what kind of difficulties you are experiencing, and begin to think with you about how I may be able to help you manage them.
In our first session, I will aim to find out more about you, to understand your problems and how they impact upon your life, and we will be able to get an idea about whether I am the right counsellor for you. We can also discuss how long it might take to change, or resolve the things that are causing you distress and what sort of approach would be the most helpful for you.
I hope to hear from you soon.
