Jane Lassetter BA (hons) MA Rdth
Specialising in Child & Adolescent Mental Health.
When your child experiences emotional distress it can be heart breaking as a parent or carer. Some parents have described to me a feeling of helplessness, not knowing what to do for the best, not knowing what to do or where to turn. I aim to support parents and carers throughout the therapeutic journey to wellness, empowering the family as a whole to progress.
When you make an enquiry you will be offered a free half hour consultation (face to face) to give you an idea of how I work and if you would like to work with me. It’s also an opportunity for me to make sure I feel able to help or to signpost you to the person who can. Some parents and carers choose to attend that appointment alone, some bring their child, either is fine.
I have fifteen years experience of working with children and young people with mental health difficulties, eleven of which were in the NHS. I work with all areas of mental health affecting children, for example behaviour concerns, anxiety, anger, low self esteem, low mood and peer relationship difficulties. I am creative and playful and aim to use these skills to help children and young people explore their difficulties.
I have further training in a range of techniques including CBT, Developmental Dyadic Psychotherapy, Theraplay, Mindfulness and Relaxation, all specific to Children and Young People.
I am friendly and non threatening in my approach, helping to put children at ease and progress with confidence. Where apropriate I work alongside parents to help them understand and support their children.
I am fully insured and hold a current enhanced DBS which can be available for inspection.
I have developed a Skype Parenting programme to support Children with generalised anxiety which is also available. Please enquire.
