About me
About Me
Reaching out for therapy can feel like a big step.
Perhaps you’re feeling anxious, overwhelmed or stuck in patterns that no longer seem to work. You may be struggling in relationships, living with the impact of trauma, questioning yourself, navigating neurodiversity, or simply finding life harder than it used to.
Whatever has brought you here, I believe that our difficulties rarely happen in isolation. They often make sense when we begin to understand our experiences, relationships and the ways we have learned to cope.
As an HCPC Registered Dramatherapist/ Creative Psychotherapist, my role isn’t to judge you or tell you who you should be. Instead, I offer a warm, thoughtful and non-judgemental space where we can make sense of your experiences together, helping you feel more comfortable in who you are today whilst moving towards the future you want.
One of the things I value most is helping people make sense of their experiences. When we understand ourselves with curiosity rather than criticism, change often becomes possible.
For over 20 years I have worked alongside adults, children and families, supporting people through anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem and many of life’s challenges.
Alongside more than 11 years working within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), I have also spent many years supporting people and families in everyday life. This has given me a practical understanding of the realities people face outside the therapy room and allows me to offer support that is both compassionate and grounded in real life.
Therapy for Adults
Many adults who come to see me simply want someone who will listen without judgement, help them make sense of their experiences and support them to move forwards.
Although my professional training is in Creative Psychotherapy (Dramatherapy), many of my adult clients choose to work entirely through conversation. Creative approaches are always optional and are only introduced if they feel helpful to you. There is never any expectation to draw, paint, act or be “creative” unless that is something you would like to explore.
I regularly support adults experiencing:
Anxiety and chronic stress
Depression and low mood
Low self-esteem
Trauma and PTSD
Relationship difficulties
Recovery from domestic abuse
Parenting challenges
ADHD and autism (diagnosed or suspected)
Emotional regulation difficulties
Feeling overwhelmed, stuck or uncertain about the future
Many people arrive believing there is something “wrong” with them. My experience has shown me that, more often than not, there are understandable reasons why people feel as they do. Therapy offers the opportunity to understand those reasons with compassion, discover your strengths and develop new ways of moving forwards.
Children, Young People and Families
I also have extensive experience supporting children, young people and families.
Children don’t always have the words to explain how they are feeling. Often their emotions are communicated through behaviour, relationships or difficulties at home or school. Rather than simply focusing on behaviour, I aim to understand what may be sitting underneath it.
I work with children and families experiencing:
Anxiety
Low mood
School-related difficulties
Attachment and relationship difficulties
Behaviour that feels difficult to understand
Trauma and recovery from abuse
Emotional regulation difficulties
Autism and ADHD (diagnosed or suspected)
Parent-child relationship difficulties
Alongside therapy, I also offer parent support and coaching, helping parents better understand their child’s needs whilst developing approaches that fit with their own values, strengths and family life.
How I Work
No two people are the same, so no two therapy journeys should be either.
My work is integrative and trauma-informed, drawing upon my experience as a Creative Psychotherapist alongside additional professional training in:
EMDR (currently completing training and offering EMDR at a reduced training rate)
Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP)
Theraplay
CBT-informed approaches
DBT-informed approaches
Sensory Attachment Intervention
Mindfulness
Clinical Supervision
Rather than following one model, I adapt my approach to the individual sitting in front of me.
Whether you are seeking therapy for yourself, support for your child, guidance as a parent or reflective space as a professional, my aim is always the same: to help people feel understood, develop greater self-compassion and move forwards with confidence.
Appointments
I offer appointments online and in person.
If you’re wondering whether I’m the right therapist for you, I offer a free introductory telephone conversation. This gives us the opportunity to discuss what has brought you to therapy, answer any questions you may have and decide together whether we feel like a good fit.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
