About me

Hello,

I am registered BACP & COSRT member specialising in helping individuals and couples. My primary training is in the field of sex and relationships, but I also work with individuals in a number of areas including anxiety and depression.

I have a real passion for helping others and was drawn to therapy after having some very transformative experiences with a therapist in my early life. Part of this process led me to pursue retraining in the field, whilst sustaining corporate roles in marketing & technology. I have previously worked in the NHS, The Awareness Centre and Richmond Fellowship as part of my training `before setting up private practise in 2018.

I draw upon different experiences and modalities as part of my approach as no client is the same; therefore no therapy session is the same either. At it's heart though, is the therapeutic relationship which can help with your own personal healing journey, whatever that may be.

I have 8 years experience working with the following issues with both individuals and couples, and continue to expand my practise through CPD and additional training:

Couples therapy

  • Communication problems
  • Infidelity
  • Commitment issues
  • Differing sexual appetites
  • Lack of intimacy
  • Frequent arguments/ conflict
  • Fertility issues

Psychosexual therapy

  • Low libido / lack of desire
  • Erectile problems (PE & DE)
  • Rapid/ delayed ejaculation
  • Vaginismus
  • Dyspareunia (painful intercourse)
  • Anorgasmia
  • Asexuality
  • Sexual identity
  • Sexual shame

Work with individuals:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Anger
  • Stress
  • Work place issues
  • Loss of meaning & direction
  • Loneliness
  • Bereavement
  • Imposter syndrome

Thanks for reading, lots of information to take in.  If you have further questions please contact me by email or phone.

Best wishes,

James

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
