About me
Hello, and welcome.
I'm Jamal, a qualified counsellor offering online & face to face sessions. I have experience working within various counselling agencies, private practices and educational settings, supporting both adults and young people through a wide range of emotional and personal challenges.
I understand that reaching out for support can feel like a big step. Life can be difficult at times, and there may be moments when you feel overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, low, or unsure of how to move forward. My aim is to offer a warm, supportive and confidential space where you can talk openly and be heard without judgement.
I believe that every person is unique, and I will work alongside you at a pace that feels comfortable. Whether you are facing anxiety, stress, relationship difficulties, loss, low self-esteem, life changes, or simply need a space to make sense of your thoughts and feelings, I am here to support you.
My approach is grounded in empathy, honesty and genuine human connection. Building a trusting relationship is at the heart of my work, and I strive to create an environment where you feel safe, valued and understood.
Over the years, I have supported people from a variety of backgrounds and life experiences. This has taught me the importance of listening with curiosity, compassion and respect, recognising that each person's story is their own.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, which has equipped me with the knowledge, skills, and ethical foundation to support individuals through a wide range of personal challenges. My training included extensive supervised practice, developing my ability to build trusting therapeutic relationships and provide a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space for clients.
As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I work in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework, ensuring that my practice is professional, ethical, and centred around each client’s individual needs. I am committed to ongoing professional development and regularly undertake further training to continue expanding my knowledge and skills.
Alongside my counselling training, I have experience supporting people from diverse backgrounds and understand that every individual’s journey is unique. I believe that effective therapy is built on empathy, authenticity, and a strong therapeutic relationship. Whether you are seeking support for anxiety, stress, low mood, relationship difficulties, life transitions, or simply need someone to talk to, I aim to provide a calm, supportive environment where you feel heard, understood, and empowered.
Beginning therapy can feel like a significant step, and I am committed to helping you feel comfortable and supported from our very first session.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I offer a warm, supportive and confidential counselling space where you can talk openly about whatever is on your mind, without fear of judgement. My aim is to provide a safe and trusting environment where you feel heard, understood and accepted. I offer in person and online sessions. These are available in blocks of 6,10 & 12 sessions
I understand that seeking counselling can feel daunting, particularly if it is your first experience of therapy. I believe that building a strong therapeutic relationship is at the heart of meaningful change, and I work at a pace that feels comfortable for you. Whether you are experiencing anxiety, stress, low mood, relationship difficulties, loss, life changes or simply feeling overwhelmed, I will work alongside you with empathy, respect and compassion.
My approach is person-centred, meaning I believe you are the expert in your own life. Rather than giving advice or telling you what to do, I will support you in exploring your thoughts, feelings and experiences, helping you develop greater self-awareness, clarity and confidence in your own decisions.
I have experience supporting both adults and young people from a range of backgrounds and life experiences. Every person’s story is unique, and I strive to create a space where you feel comfortable bringing your authentic self, whatever challenges you may be facing.
Counselling can offer an opportunity to pause, reflect and make sense of difficult experiences. Together, we can explore what is important to you and work towards greater understanding, resilience and emotional wellbeing.
