About me
Are you looking for a safe and effective therapy model to support you through long-term change?
Welcome. I imagine you're possibly overwhelmed with all the choices for finding therapy and may not know where to start. There is a vast sea of therapists out there, and it can be difficult to know what the right fit is for you.
Well, I am one of those many therapists. My name is Jaime Leslie. I have been a psychotherapist in practice for over twenty years.
I use a collaborative, holistic approach to empower individuals to overcome unique obstacles, improve relationships, and mindfully shift long-term patterns.
Sometimes we find ourselves repeating the same pattern or cycle without clarity of how to change or why we keep getting stuck. Through this work, we access your own inner guidance to provide clarity and build resources to support this healing and transformational work.
With over twenty years of experience, I provide a skilled clinical lens as we collaborate to transform deep patterns. I am an integrative therapist, this means I use a wide range of tools and tailor therapy towards the individual needs of my clients. I tend to work primarily with deeper processing techniques such as Somatic EMDR, generational trauma healing, and Depth Hypnosis.
I am Canadian and living full-time in Scotland. I feel very privileged to participate in this work. I frequently hear clients say they have been able to move forward in their lives quickly in ways that they had not reached through "talk therapy." That matches my personal experience as well.

A more detailed view about EMDR and Deeper Processing techniques:
What are Somatic EMDR and Deeper Processing techniques? We all have a strong internal drive to completion or to experience life events full circle. Sometimes events in our lives do not permit us to reach resolution. We also have drives for protection and to not feel things that are unpleasant or overwhelming. These internal drives can lead to feeling stuck (often unconsciously), and this can show up in different ways, for example, we can get involved in the same relationships or emotional/behavioural cycles. Sometimes it becomes problematic, and we begin to experience difficulties like anxiety, depression, physical symptoms, stress reactions, or emotional intolerance. Our mind is built to try and figure out why, and although a thinking process like this can be helpful, it can also be frustrating and create a greater loop.
With this approach to therapy, we help to slow things down and connect with that natural drive for completion and move towards resolution - freedom and clarity arises spontaneously from within. Trusting this process is key. My experience is that bringing awareness to the details of our experience facilitates this movement. This includes bringing awareness and listening to our thoughts, emotions, nervous system, body sensations, imagination, intuition, and all 5 senses.
This awareness becomes even more helpful when used in conjunction with EMDR and other uses of bilateral stimulation. Applying left-right bilateral stimulation helps the brain to work more efficiently and with greater resiliency. The more primitive parts of the brain appear to become less engaged, and the higher-functioning parts become more activated. Evidence also suggests there is an increase in activity between brain hemispheres. This aids in the ability to sustain awareness such that incomplete responses have a chance to fully reprocess.
