About me

I am a qualified and experienced Counsellor, Psychotherapist, Coach,  supervisor and Mindfulness teacher.
I am a member of the United Kingdom Association of Transactional Analysis and European Association of Transactional Analysis and abide by their ethical guidelines.

I provide a confidential and safe environment in which my clients can explore their difficulties, increase their self awareness and come to understand how certain feelings, behaviour and beliefs might be preventing them from leading a fulfilling, stimulating and rewarding life.

My working style is primarily humanistic and relational which means I won't judge, advise or direct you and will accept you where you are and support you in reaching your goals. I work contractually, which simply means that together we decide how and what you want to work on - which can be changed at any moment. I believe the relationship between client and therapist is paramount and the vehicle that will ultimately support growth and change. I also refer to and use Transactional Analysis where I feel it will help the client to understand their patterns.

My growing interest in Mindfulness which I practice on a personal level has developed into me qualifying as a Mindfulness Meditation and Compassion teacher filling an extensive 2 year training led by Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach.
I now incorporate mindful practices within my therapeutic work.
I believe mindfulness can bring about profound changes in people especially with anxiety, depression and stress related issues.

"As human beings, our greatness lies not so much in being able to remake the world...
as in being able to remak
e ourselves." - Mahatma Gandhi

I am experienced in working with clients of all ages who are experiencing difficulties such as:

  • Anger Management
  • Relationship problems
  • Obesity, Weight Loss & Eating issues - and have run several Conscious Eating groups
  • Anxiety & Depression
  • Loss & Bereavement
  • Issues with work/school
  • Health Challenges & Life threatening diagnosis
  • Abuse/Rape
  • General dissatisfaction/'stuckness' with life
  • Life/Career Goals

I also offer counselling supervision and offer my services to counselling students inclusive of any report writing/documentation they need.

"Happiness is not something ready made. It comes from your own actions."
Dalai Lama

I work face to face and via ZOOM so distance need not be a barrier to working with me. If you want to discuss whether working with me is the right option for you then give me a call - no obligation.

I offer a free 20 minute telephone consultation to give you the opportunity to see if I am the right therapist/supervisor for you.

I also facilitate Mindfullness workshops and meditation evenings.

Training, qualifications & experience

I transitioned to the field of personal development in 2000 and I have extensive experience as client, practitioner and trainer.  I have delivered counselling and coaching to individuals, couples and groups and have also facilitated womens retreats in the UK, Spain and the USA.

I initially qualified as a Counsellor in 2003 with a Post Graduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling from University of Wales College, Newport. Since then I have completed an extensive 4 year training in Transactional Analysis psychotherapy and I am a registered diploma member of the United Kingdom Association for Transactional Analysis. I am also currently working toward my CTA.

I am a CoachU qualified coach, and have a Teaching Certificate.

I have a BPS Approved Certificate level 1 & 2 & 3 in Supervision and I have been supervising experienced and student counsellors individually for 9 years.

Over the past 6 years I have become more and more interested in Mindfulness as a therapeutic intervention and I have completed the Mindfulness and Compassion Teacher Training course with Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach and also Tara Brach's Mindfullness and Psychotherapy course.

I currently offer mindfulness as part of my therapy and with an ongoing weekly meditation group.

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
