About me

Hello, my name is Jackie, and I am an experienced, registered and accredited counsellor with over 17 years experience in a role I am passionate about.  You may have visited this website because you, a friend or loved one, is feeling unhappy, overwhelmed by life, struggling with  a particular life event, or difficult emotional issue, or simply feeling 'stuck'.  Taking the step of seeking counselling is courageous, and can sometimes feel frightening or confusing.  I am able to help you gently through this process, and together we can work towards meeting your own unique needs. I will offer you a safe, supportive, confidential space in which to explore your concerns and the things that matter most to you.

I have previous longstanding experience of setting up and running a successful Counselling Service for a local mental health charity.  I have a proven record of working with a wide range of the concerns that clients may bring to counselling including anxiety, depression, complex mental health issues, trauma and bereavement.   I offer therapy that is welcoming, non judgemental, empathetic and puts you, the client, at the heart of the process.

My sincere belief, based on years of experience, is that counselling can bring about huge benefits to your overall wellbeing, help to heal past or present hurts, and enable you to reach your full potential.

Please do text, phone or email me to discuss how I may be able to help.

Association for Christian Counsellors

The Association of Christian Counsellors is a professional body representing and setting standards for Christian counselling and care in the UK.

The organisation is made up of various different membership categories, including Counsellor and Accredited, and requires all members working as counsellors to undertake Continuous Professional Development on a regular basis.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
