Support for Bereavement, Baby Loss, Life Changes. Support for when a pet has died. Pregnancy, Postnatal, Parenthood & Returning to Work.

Loss and change is an inevitable part of life. And sometimes when it occurs, it can feel overwhelming.

You may be dealing with bereavement, navigating a major life transition, struggling during pregnancy, adjusting to parenthood, or feeling worried or consumed with thoughts of returning to work after parental leave.

Even positive changes can cause us to feel anxious or unsure.

You’re not alone. There is a space available for you to talk openly, without any judgement, and get the support you need - and deserve. You can bring whatever you’re holding in your head - grief, worry, uncertainty, stress - and hope.

You may be looking for:

  • Bereavement counselling to help you navigate loss. This could relate to the death of a loved one, or any other type of loss, such as the loss of a friendship, a home, a job – etc.
  • Support through pregnancy and the emotional changes it brings
  • Guidance during the transition to parenthood
Space to rebuild confidence when returning to work
  • Help coping with anxiety, stress, or overwhelming change
  • It can feel scary taking the first steps to facing things, but know this - whatever you’re facing, whatever your background or story, you don’t have to go through it alone.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • Level 3 Counselling Skills
  • Level 5 in Therapeutic Counselling
  • Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy

I have trained in counselling skills with Sands and The Foundation for Infant Loss and undertaken excellent and in depth bereavement counsellor training with St Christopher’s Hospice and Woodside Bereavement.

I volunteer my time a bereavement counsellor at St Christopher’s Hospice and work for Cruse Bereavement Support.

Background:

For 14 years I worked in the field of pregnancy and postnatal as a NCT antenatal practitioner and a baby massage/reflexology teacher and I loved and still love supporting parents in this transitional period of their lives.

I am a published author with Montag & Martin (formerly Pinter & Martin) a publishing company specialising in pregnancy, birth & parenting.

Having experienced multiple bereavements and other significant losses in my life I was drawn to wanting to help others in these areas.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
