About me

Hello, my name is Ivana.
Thank you for taking your time to read my profile.
My goal is to help you to gain a better understanding of your own feelings and rediscover your self-worth – helping you to move forward.
I have always had an interest in the relational aspects of life and the relationship we have with ourselves. I hope that you find something about my style and expertise that speaks directly to you.
Are you struggling with a relationship or low self-esteem, or perhaps you’ve recently experienced a loss in your life
I offer a secure, warm, and non-judgmental space for clients  to explore themselves and their concerns more deeply. We will work collaboratively as I believe that the relationship between the client and the therapist is vital. I will hold a space for you to feel seen and heard, working towards healing and personal growth. I offer an integrative approach which means I adapt my style  according to your specific needs.
I will work to understand your  world/life from your point of view. I will positively value you as a client, in all aspects of your humanity and remain open and genuine. My focus is for you to feel accepted and to reconnect with your own resources. My background:
I specialize in grief and loss. I believe that early development provides us with a narrative from which both positive and negative patterns can emerge. Exploring these patterns can help us to understand how to move forward and how to better relate to the world around us.
I have experience working with stress, anger, trauma and anxiety related issues. I have worked with individuals from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds. I have completed additional training in providing therapeutic safety in trauma. I have worked with a variety of issues such as depression, bereavement and loss, low self-confidence, and relational issues, although not limited to those listed above.
My educational background is within Psychology, and I completed my Masters in The Psychoanalytical Approach to Observation at Tavistock and Portman NHS trust and I am trained in the Integrative approach to counselling, which combines different theories – creating holistic perspective. If you’d like to know more or would like a session, please contact me to arrange a 20 mins consultation. Currently fully booked with clients in London but have some availability in Southend East.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
