About me
I have over twenty years experience working as a psychological therapist helping people with a wide range of difficulties.
My work as a therapist includes this private practice and my continuing role in the NHS as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) and EMDR practitioner.
I have been praised by clients for my caring and understanding approach. I emphasise creating a safe and supportive, collaborative relationship, bringing curiosity and open-mindedness. You, the client, always hold the power about what gets worked on and when.
Seeking therapy/ counselling can be a daunting prospect, but if you’re experiencing difficulties with low mood or anxiety, low self-worth, trauma, or challenging thoughts, all you need to do is send a message, and we can arrange an initial conversation to see how I may be able to help. Sessions are currently available online only.
Training
I initially trained as a person-centred counsellor working in a substance misuse charity, gaining significant experience of working with people with a wide range of problems. I joined an NHS Psychological Therapy team in 2014, training through a Postgraduate Diploma in CBT and later trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), a comprehensive trauma therapy.
I have a passion for nature and green-space and love to integrate these environments into therapy whenever possible.
I have significant experience of working with marginalised people, such as those who are neurodiverse, non-binary or trans clients, and I am sex positive and kink-aware, aiming to create a positive environment for all.
Accreditation
I am accredited with the BACP and the BABCP (the CBT awarding body) and am working towards accreditation as an EMDR (level 1-4) practitioner.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
