About me
Hello,
Are you struggling with life in some way? Are you not living the life you desire? Are you feeling down, anxious, lost or lonely? Are you feeling angry in life? Are you in a relationship i.e partner, parent, child, sibling that is feeling stuck in some way? Are you struggling with alcohol or a substance? Do you have a long term illness that is causing you distress? Is your past following you around on a day to day basis?
I’m an integrative therapist which means I draw on a range of therapeutic models and techniques. This helps to fit clients unique needs, personalities, and circumstances.
I’m aware that thinking about having counselling might be difficult or frightening. My approach is very caring and I take your lead and pace. I believe that you are the expert of yourself and my job is to help facilitate areas of need without judgement.
I understand that in life, sometimes we do not have the power to change certain circumstances and I’m very interested in helping people find ways to cope whilst experiencing pain or suffering.
I also have specialist training within substance addiction and had a fantastic experience working in a male residential rehab. This was an excellent opportunity helping clients to work towards recovery, independence and an improved wellbeing.
A huge strength of mine is passion. I love to offer people a safe space to grow, gain awareness, reduce stress and suffering, reach goals and ultimately live a more peaceful and fulfilling life.
My goal as a psychotherapist is to ensure that you feel safe and have trust in our therapeutic relationship. This is vital so that you can comfortably be yourself and gain the most out of our work together.
I've had some crappy cards thrown my way but with the correct support, tools and the willingness I have been able to make positive changes. I do believe we are constantly working on ourselves as life is not linear, there are loops, leaps and sudden drops - accessing the right help at these times can help us to get back on track.
I offer a 15 minute free phone call to see if we are the right match - please email to book a chat.
Warm regards,
Isobel

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
