About me
Do you carry a persistent sense of emptiness or disconnection that is difficult to explain? Do you find yourself repeating patterns in relationships - pushing people away, struggling to trust, fearing rejection or losing yourself in others’ needs, even when part of you desperately wants something different?
If so, you are in the right place. I am Inese, an integrative transpersonal psychotherapist with over ten years of clinical experience working with adults. I specialise in emotional abandonment and childhood emotional neglect, the often invisible wounds that form when a child’s emotional world is consistently overlooked, dismissed, or left unmet.
These experiences leave a lasting mark on how we see ourselves, how we relate to others, and on the quiet belief, held deep down, that we are somehow not quite enough. You may recognise yourself in some of the following:
- You long for genuine closeness and yet find intimacy frightening.
- You have a harsh inner critic that tells you that you must do more, be more, achieve more, and still it is never enough.
- You people please and overgive, then feel resentful and depleted.
- You are drawn to partners who feel familiar but unavailable.
- You feel alone even when surrounded by people.
- You struggle to know what you truly want or need.
These are not character flaws. They are patterns that developed for entirely understandable reasons, intelligent adaptations to an environment where your emotional needs were not consistently met. And they are patterns that can change.
I also bring something beyond my clinical training to this work. I am originally from Latvia and moved to London at 23, without family, friends, or familiar ground around me. That experience of building a sense of belonging and connection from the ground up, of navigating identity, displacement, and what it means to finally feel at home in yourself, informs everything I bring to the therapy room.
If you have ever felt like an outsider in your own life, I understand that from the inside.
My approach is integrative and transpersonal, which means I draw on a range of therapeutic methods and work with the whole of you, your thoughts, your emotions, your body, your relational patterns, and your sense of meaning and identity. This may include inner-child work, attachment-focused exploration, internal parts work, sand play, dreamwork, visualisation, mindfulness and body awareness, all carefully tailored to where you are and what feels right for you.
Healing from emotional abandonment and childhood emotional neglect is real and lasting. Many of the adults I work with have spent years wondering what is wrong with them. Therapy offers something different: understanding, genuine compassion and the gradual, steady experience of what it feels like to no longer carry this alone.
My Master's degree in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy adds depth to my practice, giving me a strong understanding of how our early experiences and relationships can shape how we think, feel, and relate to others later in life. This perspective helps us explore not only your current difficulties, but also the underlying patterns that may be influencing them.
I work in a compassionate and trauma-informed way, recognising that meaningful change often begins with understanding where these patterns originated and identifying what is holding you back and why. At the same time, therapy can support you in exploring new perspectives, developing better coping mechanisms, and finding new ways of relating to yourself, creating meaningful change moving forward and helping you navigate life in the present.
I offer online only therapy across the UK and internationally, just a click away and start with a no-obligation 30-minute introductory call.
It's very normal to feel anxious or uncertain before your first call, and these feelings are completely understandable.
This is an opportunity for us to get to know one another, explore what has led you to seek therapy, and for you to ask any questions you may have, and there is no expectation for you to talk about everything straight away.
Many of my clients tell me that online therapy has been just as effective—if not more so—than meeting in person. Being in the comfort and familiarity of your own surroundings can help you feel more at ease, allowing your nervous system to settle and creating a greater sense of safety. This often makes it easier to talk about difficult, sensitive, or deeply personal experiences without the added pressure of being face-to-face.
I have worked exclusively online for the last five years, and again, my clients describe this way of working as effective, compassionate, and profoundly transformative.
Together, we can explore new perspectives, nurture your growth, and support you in navigating life with confidence, joy for life, self-awareness, and compassion for yourself.

I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work in full accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions. Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information
I begin with a free 30-minute introductory call, a relaxed, informal conversation where you can share a little of what brings you here, ask any questions you have, and we can both get a sense of whether working together feels right. There is no pressure and no obligation to proceed.
If we decide to go forward, we will arrange an initial consultation session as a gentle, more in-depth beginning, exploring your background, your hopes for therapy, and the areas of your life where you would most like to see change.
Following the initial session, if we are both happy to proceed, we will agree on a regular weekly meeting time. I will send you a client agreement and some brief paperwork to complete before we begin. I work with clients online across the UK and internationally via Google Meet, WhatsApp video or FaceTime.
Online therapy sessions: £75 per 50-minute session.

Further information
I became a psychotherapist because I believe that healing is possible for everyone, regardless of how long they have been carrying their wounds or how invisible those wounds feel. The adults I work with most often are not people who have experienced dramatic or obvious trauma. They are people who grew up in households where everything looked fine from the outside, but something essential was missing on the inside: consistent emotional attunement, genuine understanding, and a felt sense of being truly seen and loved. The impact of this kind of invisible neglect is real, significant and treatable.
I am drawn to this work because I understand, from the inside, what it means to rebuild a sense of belonging and connection from the ground up. I bring both clinical expertise and lived experience to the therapy room, and I believe that both matter. If you are wondering whether what you experienced counts, or whether it was ‘bad enough’ to bring to therapy, it does, and it was. Your experience is enough. You are enough. And you do not have to keep carrying this alone.
Here is what some of my clients have said about their experiences working with me.
“Inese supported me through an incredibly difficult chapter of my life. Her care, expertise, and the safe space she provided were invaluable in helping me navigate this time.
From our first session together, Inese made me feel heard and guided me to explore my thoughts and emotions in a way that helped me make sense of them. At the end of every session, I always felt calmer and more grounded, carrying this feeling with me.
By putting my trust in Inese, she helped me explore different methods to understand how I was feeling and why, and what I could do to cope better with the difficulties I was facing. I continue to tap into these methods to listen to myself and keep myself feeling well.”
Claire
"I started therapy with Inese in Jan, 2024. At the time, she was the second therapist I worked with and, so far, she's the one I have felt more comfortable with. Inese was very professional, always respectful and available.
Inese helped me go through personal struggles deriving from sensitive issues from my past, as well as coping with the impacts of parenthood on my relationship. Inese supported me to reconnect with my feelings and accept my vulnerabilities.
I highly recommend Inese for her patience, kindness and her ability to gently invite people to reflect and consider things from a different angle."
Gwen
"I have heard people say therapy didn't work for them until they found the right therapist. I consider myself very lucky because Inese was my first and only therapist. She was great from the start. Inese always listened, never judged and guided me so I could make the right decisions and choose the right outcomes for myself.
I had been through a lot when I began therapy. I felt lost and like I was being crushed by the various stresses in my life, but came through it with Inese's help. Since leaving therapy, I've reflected a lot. Therapy with Inese helped me find the old me and improve on my negative tendencies so I can be a happy and healthy person again.
Inese was wonderful throughout the whole process, and I would recommend her to anyone considering therapy."
