About me
I am a firm believer in the principle that we all have within ourselves, the ability to heal ourselves, but the path to doing so is not always easy to see. Working together, we can explore and unpick the issues that are causing you distress and clear a path to progressive and lasting change.
You may not even be clear about what is causing you to feel the way you do, let alone how to make it better. Whether it is anxiety, depression, relationship stress, work pressures or thoughts of not wanting to be here, often the biggest block is not feeling that you are truly heard or understood.
I will give you the space and time to explore how you feel and what you think in an understanding, safe and confidential environment. We work at your pace and to your agenda. I will never judge you, but I may challenge you to look at what you tell me in a different way and together we can try and unpick the complications.
Reaching out is often the hardest part so we can start with a short, no obligation call to establish in a bit more detail, what counselling might look like for you and whether we make a good fit
I am a qualified person-centred counsellor in High Wycombe, specialising in client-led therapy and supporting adults and young people aged 13 to 60+. My approach puts you at the centre of the process and is based on genuine warmth, confidentiality, and creating a safe space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a BACP registered person-centred counsellor. I qualified with an L4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling in 2023 after a successful 30 year career in the commercial sector. I have over 600 hours of client experience gained in both agency and private practice. I did my initial training in a youth counselling agency and so have particular experience with adolescents and young adults but now work with all ages from 13 to 60+. I am trained and qualified to work face to face and online.
I hold MHFA England certificates in Mental Health First Aid and Suicide First Aid. I am committed to an ongoing programme of CPD and have additional training in Relational Trauma, Family Dynamics, Attachment Theory and Suicide prevention.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information
I want to make counselling as accessible as possible and so offer reduced rates for students, blue light workers and low income. Therapy can be a financially daunting prospect, but it can be an incredibly worthwhile investment. If you have financial concerns, please call to discuss and we can see if we can work something out.
