MSc MBACP

About me

I’m a UKCP and BACP-registered Gestalt psychotherapist based near Ealing Broadway. I work with individual adults.

My approach is non-judgemental, collaborative, and tailored to you. I focus on helping you gain awareness on what's going on for you by slowing things down, helping you notice what’s happening for you in the present moment, and exploring new perspectives that may emerge.

I've got a background in business, so I understand the stresses of the working world, but I’ve also worked with clients facing a wide range of challenges. These include anxiety, depression, relationship issues, feeling stuck or working through a life transition. There's a fuller list of issues I work with at the bottom of my profile.

If you feel that I could be of help then do please get in touch by phone, email or Whatsapp to book a free, no obligation 20 minute assessment; either on Zoom or by 'phone. Together we can work out whether I'm the best therapist for you.

If you'd like to know a bit more about how I work then please read on.

Slowing down, here and now.

We're often moving fast in our day to day lives . We're worrying about the future or regretting the past. But if we slow down and notice what’s going on in the present, things can start to shift. You may notice thoughts such as regrets, worries, or a sense of unease coming and going. Or you might feel very little at first. That’s okay too. We’ll stay close to whatever's present for you in the moment.

Noticing the whole of you.

When we come to therapy we often focus on what’s going on in our heads, but our bodies are trying to tell us something as well. You may notice a tight chest, shallow breathing, or restless hands. Whatever you're experiencing, it isn't separate from you; it's part of how you make sense of the world. Becoming aware of what your body's saying can give you more understanding of what's going on for you.

Noticing relationship patterns.

What happens between us in therapy can offer clues about your wider life. You might notice yourself holding back, trying to please, or worrying about being judged. Or you may feel more at ease in our sessions than elsewhere. These moments can help us understand how you relate to others in other situations, and where change may be possible.

The next step.

If this sounds like the kind of support you’re looking for, you’re welcome to get in touch by email, phone, text, or WhatsApp to arrange a free 20-minute consultation. I’ll respond within 24 hours, Monday to Friday.

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

UKCP
UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
