About me
As a BABCP qualified therapist I offer personalised CBT therapy for a range of mental health conditions including depression and anxiety. I have a particular interest in Health Anxiety and panic disorders although I have extensive experience working with a range of mental health conditions throughout my 12 year career as a mental health nurse.
I aim to provide a safe confidential space to explore your concerns and identify a plan that will help to meet your individual needs with a collaborative approach throughout the therapy.
I believe in a non-judgemental, open approach to establishing a positive therapeutic relationship throughout our therapy sessions and I have a strong belief in the evidence based efficacy of CBT models to manage a range of mental health disorders.
Currently I am able to offer face to face sessions online and telephone CBT. Also as a keen walker and lover of the outdoors, I offer an in-person "walk and talk" service in the Glasgow, Lanarkshire or Forth Valley areas at a reduced rate.
I very much look forward to hearing from you to arrange an Initial Assessment and explore the possibility of engaging in CBT therapy with myself.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a postgraduate diploma in CBT therapy, accredited by the BABCP.
I have 12 years' experience as a mental health nurse working in a range of environments, specialising in mental health assessment and crisis support.
Specific areas of interest include Anxiety, Depression, Phobias, Health Anxiety, Social anxiety, Addiction, and CFS.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The BABCP is the lead organisation for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in the UK. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in the practice, theory or development of CBT. BABCP also provides accreditation for CBT therapists. BABCP accredited members adhere to the Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics in the Practice of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies, and are willing to be scrutinised in this adherence as required.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
