About me
Psychoanalytic psychotherapy is, at heart, a "talking cure" and a theory of mind founded on the principle that communicating things to others, through the sharing of words, actions or simply the quality of your silence, can offer relief and generate an understanding that can feel, over time, transformative.
I work with children, adolescents, young adults and their parents and carers, as well as the wider network of care around a child and their family including educational and social work professionals.
I offer a thoughtful, confidential and caring space in which we might think together to develop a greater understanding of your worries, struggles and needs, whatever they may be.
I will listen to what's on your mind, without judgement and without prejudice. I'm interested in learning about how you see the world, your relationships and your role within that. And I'll help support you to identify the goals you want to aim for, what you feel might be holding you back and how, together, we might work towards helping you achieve them.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a highly specialist child and adolescent psychoanalytic psychotherapist and a full member of the Association of Child Psychotherapists.
I have worked extensively with children, young adults and families across a range of settings, including the Mildred Creak Unit (a paediatric inpatient unit at Great Ormond Street Hospital), inner London CAMHS teams, charity sector organisations including the Brent Centre for Young People, and schools. I have worked across a range of clinical presentations, including anxiety, low-mood, depression, OCD, somatising disorders and eating disorders.
Alongside my clinical practice I teach on the specialist pre-clinical infant observation course at the Tavistock Centre, the leading child and adolescent psychotherapy training institution in the country.
