About me
Most of us would agree that life can be really tough and painful at times, whether it is stress, bereavement, relationships, sexuality, bullying and workplace or family / relationship problems. Sometimes it can be a struggle to cope with strong emotions such as anxiety, depression, loneliness, anger, lack self self-esteem. Much of what we feel can originate from events in earlier life and feel confusing or bigger than we can cope with alone.
Working daytime or evening, sensitively online with some potential face to face, I offer a confidential space for people to make sense of and come to terms with their experience. Skilled support can help you to find ways of coping and to understand your choices and responses.
Working to create a safe, trusting working relationship, we might use aspects of different ways of working, including calming techniques, understanding the impact of trauma or difficult early life events, working with your bodily tensions and sensations, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
I also offer clinical supervision 1:1 or groups and couples work.
Training, qualifications & experience
My therapeutic training began in the late 90s and runs (not in order):
- Diploma in clinical supervision
- MA in Humanistic Psychotherapy
- PG Dip in Humanistic Psychotherapy and Person Centred Counselling
- PG Cert in Humanistic Psychotherapy and Person Centred Counselling
- Advanced Diploma in CBT for PC counsellors
- Cert in Counselling Skills
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
