About me

Hi my name is Helen, welcome to my profile page. I particularly work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, sadness, stress, low self esteem, relationship issues, and all kinds of loss. Together we can explore difficulties and challenges you may be experiencing in a safe and supportive way. Sharing your thoughts and feelings can be the first step to reshaping your personal story and bring lasting change to your life. My aim is to help you gain emotional strength and a greater sense of self.

The past year has brought many new challenges and highlighted existing ones. Loss of freedoms we took for granted impacting us all in different ways, coupled with personal losses for many. Loss can take shape in many different aspects of our life. Loss of a loved one due to bereavement/ loss of a relationship/ divorce / separation/ loss of self esteem/ self worth/ identity (Who am I) loss of your business or Job / loss of a house or home/ loss of a beloved pet. The pain and emotion we feel as a result of loss are never easy. I have personally experienced loss that had had a major impact on my life, propelling me to the work I do today.

I am a fully qualified counsellor and a registered member of the British Associaton for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I abide by their ethical framework which ensures you receive professional and safe therapy.

My training as an integrative counsellor enables me to access different interventions which can be tailored to benefit and support each individual and unique client. My models include person-centred therapy, Cognitive Behavioural therapy (CBT) and Psychodynamic therapy. I may work with you in a creative way if we decide together that this could be of benefit to you.

If you feel someone to listen and support your person journey, help you through your healing process towards lasting change, could be of benefit to you, then please contact me. I look forward to hearing from you

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
