About me

Hi my name is Helen, I am passionate about counselling and the positive changes it can bring to your life. Together we can explore difficulties and challenges you may be experiencing in a safe, supportive, non-judgemental, confidential way.

I am a fully qualified counsellor and a registered member of the British Associaton for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I abide by their ethical framework which ensures you receive professional and safe therapy.

My training as an integrative counsellor enables me to access different interventions which can be tailored to benefit and support each individual and unique client. My models include person-centred therapy, Cognitive Behavioural therapy (CBT) and Psychodynamic therapy. I may work with you in a creative way if we decide together that this could be of benefit to you.

My work with clients includes a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, stress, relationship issues, bereavement and loss. What is loss? Loss can take shape in different aspects of our life. Loss of a relationship/child separation/divorce. Loss of a house or home. Loss of a beloved animal or pet through separation or bereavement. Loss of a financial kind/redundancy a job or business. Loss of a loved one due to bereavement. Loss of our own identity or self esteem (who am I) The pain and emotions we feel as the result of loss are never easy. I have personally experienced loss that has had a major impact on my own life, propelling me to the work I do as a counsellor today. I hope together we can explore your personal narrative to help support your personal journey and healing process.

Sharing your thoughts and feelings can be the first step, if you feel someone to listen and support could be of benefit to you, then please contact me. My aim is to help you gain emotional strength and a greater sense of self to affect change in your life.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
