About me

You can seem successful and in control — yet feel exhausted, burned out, anxious, depressed, or unsure of your next steps in life.

Many high-achieving professionals appear capable and composed on the outside, yet struggle silently with anxiety, depression, burnout, relationship difficulties, or the pressure of trying to “have it all.” You may feel drained by work, disconnected from your partner, or questioning whether your life is truly aligned with what you want. Therapy can be the space where you pause, reflect, and begin to untangle the pressures weighing on you — in ways you may not have noticed or experienced before.

I’m Helen, a qualified Psychotherapist and Counsellor, offering therapy through my private practice, Healing Horizons. With over 15 years’ experience supporting adults in both the private sector in London and within the mental health system, I provide a boutique therapy service designed for those seeking deep understanding and lasting change. My experience allows me to connect with clients with empathy and insight, understanding many of the challenges they face from both a professional and lived perspective.

Many of my clients stay long-term because therapy helps them see what’s really happening inside. They become aware of patterns and emotional responses that previously felt overwhelming, triggering, or crippling, and learn to manage them in ways that don’t consume them. They begin to notice subtle shifts — how thoughts, feelings, and behaviours interact — and, with practice, can make different decisions that better serve their adult lives rather than old patterns formed in childhood.

Therapy becomes a space to explore emotions safely, practise grounding, and connect with feelings in ways that are both manageable and transformative. Clients often find words for emotions they didn’t know they could express, gain confidence communicating with partners or colleagues, and release the need to constantly please others. One client described the process as starting therapy like a learner driver — hesitant and uncertain — and emerging able to “drive” their own life with awareness, choice, and confidence.

I offer 12-week structured therapy programs, which can be extended if needed, though many clients continue long-term as they explore deeper personal growth and life changes. This framework allows focus on specific goals, understanding recurring patterns, and developing practical strategies to manage anxiety, depression, burnout, relationship challenges, and major life transitions such as career change or grief.

Sessions are confidential and flexible, offered online via Zoom to suit busy professionals. My integrative approach combines Transactional Analysis (TA), Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness, and other evidence-based methods. I also draw on insights from Peter Levine’s work, focusing on presence — the ability to remain centred and resonate in a primitive way with clients, connecting nervous system to nervous system. This allows for deep attunement, helping clients notice what is happening inside, regulate emotions, and create shifts that weren’t possible before.

Therapy with me is not just about managing symptoms — it’s about understanding yourself at a deeper level, noticing patterns that no longer serve you, and developing practical ways to live more authentically. Whether you are seeking support for anxiety, depression, burnout, relationship difficulties, or major life transitions, my work is designed to help you feel grounded, make empowered decisions, and navigate life with clarity, resilience, and confidence.

I invite you to book a free 30-minute Zoom consultation. This session provides a safe space to discuss what’s happening beneath the surface, explore your goals, and see how therapy with Healing Horizons could support you in moving forward with balance, insight, and lasting change.
