About me
Whether you seek a safe confidential space to explore difficult experiences, patterns of relating or have a sense of being stuck and want to work on that. I aim to offer you a safe space where you will really feel heard and understood.
I'm a therapeutic counsellor and counselling supervisor based in Derbyshire. I have over ten years of post qualification experience and have worked with a wide variety of people who have brought many different experiences and difficulties to the counselling space. My style is down to earth, approachable and friendly. As a person centred counsellor I will work collaboratively with you on the sections of your life you bring into therapy.
Sessions are available by telephone or over webcam video allowing you opportunity to access a session from the place you feel the most comfortable. Training, qualifications & experience
I have worked with a UK based Crisis charity for many years as both counsellor and clinical supervisor and have significant experience helping people explore and unpack the impact of domestic and sexual violence. Some of the other areas of counselling that I have experience within include helping people explore and come to terms with life transitions, depression, stress, bereavement, abuse and anxiety but this is not an exhaustive list as I operate within a person first counselling format. In all counselling sessions my aim is to work with the person you are now, giving you space and time to unpack and explore how your experiences have shaped you, exploring your individual needs and identifying with you, your hopes, aims and next steps.
My counselling qualifications include:
- MA Counselling and Psychotherapy Practice (Masters Research Degree
- Level 6 - Certificate in Therapeutic Supervision
- Level 4 - Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (Humanistic Counselling Practice)
- OCST4 - Audio and Webcam Counselling Practice Certificate
- Further to my Counselling Qualifications as a therapist I am committed to undertaking regular CPD throughout the year to enhance my practice.
