Heidi Mellonie MBACP Dip Counselling
Thank you for visiting my page. As a person centred counsellor I hope to provide you with a safe and non judgemental therapeutic space in order to enable you, the client, to explore the experiences that have brought you to counselling so that you can make sense of everything you have faced and in that process can reconnect with who you are now.
I fully understand that taking the first steps into counselling can be very daunting for many people. I am happy to talk with all prospective clients prior to arranging a session, please do feel free to telephone or email me to arrange a no obligation telephone chat.
Training, qualifications & experience
My experience as a therapist has been varied and encompasses several years counselling adults and young people on either a long or short term basis for the charities Rape Crisis and Mind, Employment Assistance Programmes and within my own individual practice. In addition to my counselling work I have previous experience of providing help and support to families via the charity Homestart and of providing a mentor and support service for children and their parents who have experienced domestic violence and entered refuge.
As a therapist I have helped people explore and come to terms with their experiences of sexual violence, domestic abuse, relationship problems, anxiety and depression. This list is by no means exhaustive, I respect and recognise the individuality of each client I work with and the individual concerns that person may choose to bring to therapy. In every instance I aim to provide a safe and non judgemental space where you can explore and make sense of what has brought you to counselling.
