About me

Hello, I’m Hazel, and I warmly welcome you to a place where you can pause, feel truly heard and reflect on what is happening in your life.

I offer a supportive, collaborative space where you can explore your experiences openly. My person-centred, integrative approach is grounded in empathy, respect and the belief that everyone has the capacity for growth and change. If change is feeling daunting or out of reach, you do not need to have the right words or know where to begin. I tailor counselling to your individual needs, considering your emotional, physical, social, spiritual and cultural wellbeing.

A particular focus of my work is supporting people through loss in its many forms. This may be the death of someone important, but loss can also arise through relationship breakdown, changes in work or family life, declining health, or other transitions that affect your identity, confidence and outlook for the future. Whatever the circumstances, I'm here to help you make sense of what the loss means to you and how it is impacting areas of your life.

Sessions are available face to face, online or as walk-and-talk counselling. I also offer single-session support if you would like to focus on something difficult without committing to ongoing counselling.

Whatever format you choose, the focus remains on you—your experiences, your feelings and the support you need.

What happens next? I’ll keep the process simple and straightforward.

1. Get in touch

Message me or arrange an initial conversation, sharing as much or as little as feels comfortable.

2. We'll talk

We’ll discuss what brings you to counselling, what you’re looking for and whether I’m the right person to support you.

3. Begin when you feel ready

If we choose to work together, we’ll agree what feels right for you. You don’t need everything figured out before your first session.

Book a free 20-minute call to see if we’re a good fit—no pressure or commitment, just a chance to connect.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have several years’ experience as a volunteer bereavement counsellor in a local hospice, alongside private practice work supporting people through grief and many forms of loss. I also work with anxiety, depression, substance use and addiction, trauma, relationship and family difficulties, and domestic abuse. Whatever your background or life experience, you are welcome.

As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I work in accordance with it's ethical framework. I also engage in ongoing personal and professional development to deepen my knowledge, reflect on my practice and ensure that the support I offer remains informed, ethical and responsive to your needs.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Single Session Therapy

Single session therapy is ideal is you are feeling stuck, overwhelmed or facing a specific challenge.  The session is a focused one time conversation to help you make sense of what's weighing on you right now, whether that's clarity, problem solving or emotional relief.

Together we will identify what matters most, draw on your strengths and explore practical next steps you can use immediately.  One session may be all you need, but you are welcome to return for another session if needed, but there is no pressure to do more than feels right.
