About me
I am a qualified and experienced counsellor based in Southend on Sea working with individuals aged 18 and over. My approach to therapy starts with the client(s) and what brings them to counselling, integrating the use of attachment theory. I provide support to individuals and couples keeping inline with the BACP ethical framework.
I have 15 years experience of supporting people through trauma and life limiting illness and have a strong understanding of how oncology treatment, diagnosis and those coming to terms with a palliative journey can impact patients, families and their loved ones.
My private practice focuses on supporting clients with presenting issues such as anxiety, stress, processing how life can change quicker than expected, loss and grief and much more.
My other main area of expertise is relationship therapy, helping couples navigate challenges, anxieties, repeating patterns, sex problems and more. Are you experiencing emotional or sexual challenges, could your relationship be contributing to feelings of low in mood and insecurities or maybe you feel unheard and need a safe space to discuss conflict with a partner.
Relationship therapy can also be a good starting point for a single person looking to find a way in life that no longer consists of being in a relationship, this can leave a person feeling sad, lonely, cut off from friendship groups and future plans once made. Maybe you want to change behaviours from previous relationships. Have you suffered childhood trauma, abuse or neglect that you would like to talk about in a safe and confidential space.
Coming to therapy can give you a non judgmental place to discuss and explore changes in your life and fears you might have.
Please get in touch if you feel I could help. We will start with an initial session, a chance to meet one another and for you to decide if I am the right fit for you. There is no commitment to continue if you feel now might not be the right time.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
