About me
Hi, I'm Hattie (she/her)
Have you reached a point where things look ok from the outside, but on the inside you are really struggling?
You might be:
- suffering with anxiety, overwhelm or stress
- Experiencing family issues or relationship difficulties
- finding it hard in the postnatal period or early years of parenting
- struggling with peri-menopause/menopause symptoms
- Feeling stuck / lost in a challenging stage of life
- .... or perhaps you just don't feel like your usual self
If any of this feels familiar, you are not alone and I am here to help.
🌿Who I work with:
I'm a women's therapist and I support women & mums who feel anxious, overwhelmed, stressed, who are experiencing relationship struggles/family issues or who are going through a difficult life stage. I have an additional specialism in the transition to motherhood / the postnatal period and peri-menopause, having worked in these areas for a local women's counselling charity for a number of years.
I am passionate about the issues that affect women and would be pleased to support you. I work online, in person & in nature.
🌿 How I work:
I am a BACP registered, person-centred and experiential counsellor.
This means I offer a warm, welcoming space, where every topic is welcome. Together, we will explore whatever is going on for you and reflect on your thoughts, feelings and experiences.
Our work may include:
- Gaining clarity around what’s going on for you / finding new perspectives
- Untangling complex thoughts and feelings
- Developing greater self-awareness and understanding
- Building self- confidence so that you feel empowered to make changes
In addition to talking about your experiences, we may also reflect upon how things feel in the body. If it feels helpful, we can also explore gentle breathing and grounding techniques which can help with anxiety/stress and nervous system regulation.
Sessions are open-ended, allowing you the space to dive into things as deeply as you want to and so that you have time to reflect on any underlying issues. We will move at your pace - exploring what feels important to you each week.
🌿Ways We Can Work Together
In all of the spaces that I meet clients, I combine the person-centred experiential approach, with the healing and restorative benefits of nature.
I offer sessions in non- clinical and nature- based settings including :
- Online counselling (UK-wide)
- In-person sessions in a rustic countryside barn
- Woodland therapy from a cosy woodland cabin
- Walk-and-talk sessions on Ashdown Forest
🌿About me:
My path to counselling began after experiencing a profound personal loss. Speaking with a counsellor helped me to navigate my experiences — and ultimately inspired me to retrain, so I could offer the same support to others.
I’m a mum of two and I understand firsthand the complex emotional shifts and identity changes that come with early motherhood.
I've worked for several years at a Brighton-based women's counselling charity, supporting women's mental health during their most challenging life transitions, including grief, becoming a mum or birthing parent, peri-menopause and menopause.
Before becoming a therapist, I worked in the legal profession (in a high pressure and corporate environment) for over a decade. This means that I understand workplace stress, career changes and challenges and the pressures of balancing multiple roles. My background also means that I uphold an ethical and professional practice.
I’m also a trauma-informed Yoga Nidra teacher.
🌿Next steps
I understand that reaching out for support can feel daunting - but I am here to support you.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

What are the benefits of nature based / outdoor therapy?
I am passionate about taking therapy into nature-based settings and utilising the therapeutic benefits that emerge from nature connection. Being out in the elements or among the trees can bring us into the present moment, offering a calming sanctuary, away from the pressures and noise of everyday life.
Outdoor therapy also can help with:
- reduction in stress
- balancing/regulating your nervous system
- gaining new perspectives
- connection to yourself and the world around you
- a sense of belonging
Please feel free to ask me any questions about working together in nature.
