About me

Hi, I'm Harj – a qualified Therapeutic Counsellor offering a calm, compassionate and supportive space to help you navigate life's emotional challenges.

I work with young people, adults and older adults who may be experiencing anxiety, grief, trauma, low mood, relationship difficulties, major life transitions, health-related concerns, or simply feeling overwhelmed by the weight of their experiences.

In addition to private practice, I work as a Counsellor and Mental Health Practitioner within both education and community settings. This includes my work with Murray Hall Community Trust Creative Therapeutic Services, supporting children and young people referred through programmes such as Building Braver Minds. My experience includes working with anxiety, emotional regulation, trauma, self-esteem difficulties, neurodivergence and complex life experiences.

My work is trauma-informed, culturally sensitive and neurodiversity-affirming. My approach is gentle, person-centred and grounded in empathy. I believe in meeting you where you are, without judgement or pressure. Together, we can explore what feels difficult, strengthen self-awareness, develop coping strategies and help you move towards greater emotional wellbeing.

Many of the people I work with are navigating grief, loss and trauma. Loss can take many forms – the loss of a loved one, a relationship, a sense of health, a future you had imagined, or a version of yourself that feels changed by life events. I have a particular interest in supporting people who are rebuilding their lives following trauma, loss, significant life changes or experiences that have altered their sense of safety, identity or direction. Counselling offers a space to acknowledge these experiences and begin to find a way forward at your own pace.

Whether we meet online, by telephone or in person, my priority is to create a safe, inclusive and respectful space where you feel seen, heard and understood. My practice is welcoming of all backgrounds and identities, and I bring training in both cultural sensitivity and neurodiversity to ensure therapy feels accessible and affirming.

I work in a integrative way, drawing upon different therapeutic approaches to meet your individual needs. I believe therapy is not about fixing you; it is about understanding yourself more deeply, building resilience and creating meaningful change in a way that feels right for you.

Taking the first step can feel daunting, but you don't have to do it alone. I offer a free 15-minute introductory consultation so we can discuss what you're looking for and whether we feel like the right fit.

I offer counselling online, by telephone, video call and in person at Tettenhall Institute in Wolverhampton.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
