About me

I believe life can be a rollercoaster but within the challenges we face, we can have the ability to grow and develop. I am an integrative counsellor which means I will work with you and adapt to your needs.

I offer online and telephone counselling sessions, I am also able to offer sessions in Punjabi.

How I work

I may use different techniques from a range of psychological approaches such as Existentialism (finding meaning and purpose in life), Compassion-focused (self-love, self-talk and self-care), Humanistic (empathy, non-judgement and acceptance), Mindfulness and others, as I believe in 'not one size fits all'.

How Counselling can help

It can be overwhelming to ask for help and support and to take that first step. I aim to make the process a little less uncomfortable. I will do a free initial 15 mins consultation with you to talk about what you need help and support with.

Having a safe space to talk out loud about your inner thoughts helps you to work through the jumble in your mind. Having someone to listen to you and support you, helps you to develop self-awareness and self-compassion which aids in your healing.

My goal is to help you grow from your struggles, heal from your pain, and move forward to where you want to be in your life. I understand the stigma around mental health and how fear, shame, being talked about in the community can prevent us from seeking the support that we may need.

I provide a neutral safe space, listening to your concerns and being non-judgmental in my approach. My therapeutic approach takes into account how identity, culture, community, race and religion can influence and shape our sense of self. It is through my experience and through my own struggles that I was able to find my voice and I want to support and empower you to do the same.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
