About me
I am an experienced integrative counsellor, primarily working with children and young people through a well-established charity setting, as well as maintaining a small private practice where I also work with adults. My approach is person-centred at its core, but I integrate various evidence-based models including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (TF-CBT), Transactional Analysis (TA), and other strength-based and creative interventions to suit the individual needs of my clients.
I bring nearly a decade of experience working in schools, community settings, and one-to-one therapy with a wide range of presenting issues. My service is underpinned by a commitment to authenticity, empathy, and building collaborative, safe relationships. I focus particularly on trauma-informed care and work in a way that recognises the social and systemic barriers many young people face. My practice is informed by my values of social justice, equality, and respect, and I strive to provide an accessible and supportive space for all clients, including those who may face difficulties accessing traditional therapy services.
In addition to therapy, I am engaged in delivering psychoeducational workshops, liaising with families and professionals, and contributing to a wider culture of reflective, ethical, and compassionate care. I am currently undertaking training in clinical supervision to expand my role and continue supporting the field in a meaningful way.
Training, qualifications & experience
I qualified as an integrative counsellor in 2015 and am a member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS), working within its ethical framework. Since qualifying, I have gained extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of settings—including schools, community outreach projects, and private practice.
My therapeutic training includes:
- DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy)
- TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behaviour Therapy)
- Mentalisation-Based Therapy
- Assessments and interventions for Harmful Sexual Behaviour
- Domestic Abuse Champion Training
Additionally, I have sought further professional development in areas such as Autism Spectrum Disorder/Learning Disabilities (ASD/LD), LGBTQ+ inclusion, behavioural activation, group facilitation, and trauma-informed practice. I am committed to continuous learning and am currently studying a Supervision Diploma to extend my capacity in supporting other professionals.
Over the years, I have worked across primary, secondary, and further education settings, delivering both individual therapy and group-based interventions. My work regularly involves liaising with families, schools, GPs, social services, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to care.
I bring a compassionate, relational approach to my work, underpinned by strong safeguarding knowledge, adaptability, and a commitment to ethical, reflective practice. Each training and professional experience has deepened my ability to meet the needs of a diverse client base while staying grounded in authenticity and empathy.
